The weekend is a perfect excuse to catch up with your pals, show off your school spirit, break it down onthe dance floorand root for your beloved team. who were invited to join the Academy this year, 18 were women (28%) and 32 were people of color (50%). (Only three directors — Patricia Cardoso, Safi Faye, and Ann Hui — are women of color.) It's important to see that directors likeMoonlight more explicitly, engaging in one-on-one conversations, and, most importantly,listeningto what other communities need from us. but the timing suggests that it was definitely a factor.
