Because incarceration has such an impact on everyone around those who are actually behind bars, it’s important for our government to stop thinking about incarceration as a quick fix. We all need our dads, our moms, our uncles. We need the family we have. It’s why I use my platform to speak out and to try to inspire every kid who experiences the effects of mass incarceration.
